Hi Moms!We are planning a trip in late Jan 2013.I am having a tough time choosing a hotel.Dining, distance to all parks and onsite recreation are the most important issues.Suggestions for a family of 4 (a 5y.o. & 20 month old)? Which are my best option

    Hi Danielle!

Congratulations on your upcoming vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort!  With so many choices, it's always easy to overwhelmed when trying to make decisions.  Thankfully, the Walt Disney World Moms Panel is full of opinionated Moms and Dads who are happy to share their experiences and favorites!

Based upon the things you rated as "most important issues," dining, park distance, and onsite recreation, I am going to recommend Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort to you.

The dining choices are wonderful, from "Beaches & Cream", an old school diner located near the amazing swimming pool, to the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club, you can choose from the most casual to the most elegant of dining options.  You are also in close proximity to the dining options available at Disney's Boardwalk Resort, just a short walk or relaxing Friendship Boat ride away.  And you are within walking distance to EPCOT's World Showcase, which is a paradise of dining options!

As for distance to Parks, you are closest to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios, which are both within walking distance, or a Friendship Boat ride away.  Disney's complimentary bus transportation system will get you to the Magic Kingdom, Disney's Animal Kingdom, or the Downtown Disney Area very quickly.

Onsite recreation includes the amazing Stormalong Bay pool, which is the best in all of WDW, in my opinion!  There is also an arcade, playgrounds for the children, two tennis courts, the Ship Shape Health Club (fitness center), volleyball, and more.  You can even arrange for fishing or cruises at the Bayside Marina.

Honestly, you can't go wrong, wherever you decide to stay, but I believe Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort will meet all of your dreams, and more!  Have a magical time!
