Hi Moms, We are headed to WDW in January '15 with our 5 y/o old twin boys. I want them to have the opportunity to spend money on their term, and plan on giving them an "allowance" every day for spending; would a WDW gift card be the best way

    Hi there, Margaret!

What a great question! I just love the idea of giving your boys their own spending "allowance" while vacationing at the Walt Disney World Resort!

Disney Gift Cards are a fantastic way to give the kids spending money, especially since they can use those at just about every one of the stores in the Theme Parks, Resorts and Downtown Disney. They'll be able to decide if they want to spend their money each day or combine in with the next day's amount for something more expensive! Something great about using the gift cards is that they can save them as a souvenir once they're empty.

Another great way to give a spending "allowance" at Disney is to purchase Disney Dollars. You can find them for sale at Guest Relations locations in the 4 major Theme Parks and Downtown Disney. I've also found them at some of the Resort's Concierge Desks. They sell dollar for dollar (in U.S. currency) and they're all different and beautiful! In fact, the only issue I've ever had with them is not wanting to spend them!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question, Margaret, and I sure hope this helps. Please let us know if we can help with any other questions you have.

Wishing you and your family a Pixie Dusted vacation!
