Hi Moms, We are arriving in 2 weeks :) My 6 year old son has severe ADHD and sensory disorder. His meds sometimes affect him physically and waits and overstimulation can cause issues. Does he qualify for a DAS card? Thanks so much!

Hello, Katie! Walt Disney World currently offers a Disability Access Service (DAS) Card that might help in your situation. This service allows Guests that cannot wait in the conventional line queue environment to schedule a return time for an attraction that is comparable to the current stand-by wait time.

    Here's how it works:

One member of your party (it does not have to be your son) will present the card to a Cast Member at the attraction that your son would like to visit. The Cast Member will issue a return time on the card that is comparable to the current stand-by wait time. You are free to grab a snack or visit another attraction with your son while you wait for your return time. Once it is time to board the attraction, just present the card to a Cast Member.

Please note that even though Guests do not have to return at the exact scheduled return time indicated on the card, only one return time can be issued at a time. For this reason, I highly recommend using the FastPass+ service in addition to the Disability Access Service Card to make the most out of your time at the theme parks.

If you would like to obtain the Disability Access Service Card for your son, make sure you both stop by Guest Relations upon arrival at the Disney Theme Park of your choice. Once issued, the card will be valid for up to 14 days.

I hope that you and your family have a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World, Katie! If you have any additional questions before your vacation, please do not hesitate to stop back by the Moms Panel. Happy planning!
