Hi Moms..this is our first big family trip to Disney and I want to make sure to do it right. I'm feeling very overwhelmed. We made dinner reservations already and obviously hotel too but other than that what should I be doing to ensure everything is covere

    Hi Samantha:

I love an advance planner.  And it's true, there are so many options at Disney World that your first planning can seem overwhelming.  Thankfully, with your advanced dining reservations and your travel taken care of already, you are already ahead of the game.

I would next take advantage of FastPass+, Disney's free service that gives you a ride return time in advance for a select number of attractions so you can enjoy the rest of the theme park and return to ride with minimal wait.  You can choose your FastPass+ experiences up to 30 days in advance of each day of your theme park visit. If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel on property (regardless of value, moderate, or deluxe), you can make your FastPass+ selections up to 60 days prior to check-in for the entire length of your stay.

To get familiar with all of what Walt Disney World has to offer, I would also order Disney's free vacation planning DVD, so you can get a taste of some attractions in advance.

I would also peruse Disney's Planning Your First Trip in-depth planning guide for even more tips and advice. Then come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask any specific questions.

    Enjoy your planning.
