Hi Moms, Planning my first family vacation to WDW during the busiest time of year Christmas. Plan on getting the dining plan and making ADR. What's the fastest way to score the coveted dining reservations - by phone or Internet? Any tips for the 7am mark?

    Amy,

I have to say I am a bit envious that you are going to be at Walt Disney World during the Christmas holiday. It is such a magical place on any given day of the year, but the holidays add that extra sparkle of magic that you will love. This will definitely be a Christmas to remember for years to come.

Of course, as you have mentioned, that is one of the busiest times of the year, so I am pleased to hear that you already have a plan of action. I would say from my experience that the internet is the fastest way to make your advanced dining reservations. Often by using the phone, you must go through several minutes of selecting different prompts, and even then, you may be on hold afterwards. You will want to book those especially popular restaurants such as Be Our Guest, Cinderella's Royal Table or Le Cellier (to name a few) first. However, if your priority is another restaurant, by all means book your top choices first. The choice is yours.

You may book your advanced dining reservations 180 days from your arrival date beginning at 6am EST (Orlando time) online or 7am EST by phone. So, as you can see, the online system is available earlier than the phone system, so if you weren't able to secure a reservation for some reason, you could always try calling (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463) to speak with a dining reservation specialist.

Another tip is to keep checking back if you don't get a reservation you really want.  There are always cancellations and it never hurts to try, try again. You never know when there will be some unexpected pixie dust waiting for you.

Have a fabulous time at Walt Disney World and please feel free to come back to ask me more questions about planning your unforgettable first trip!
