Hi Moms, Our family is planning our first trip to DW in Feb.2010. I have a 6yo and a 1yo (girls). We are not wanting to spend more than 3500.00, we are driving, feb. 10-16, and want a meal plan. Could you give us some sugesstions?

Hello Lance!  The good news is you won't have to pay for tickets or the meal plan for your 1 year old and your other daughter is young enough to qualify for the children's rate for tickets and the meal plan.  That will certainly reduce your cost.

I just went to disneyworld.com and in the upper left corner there is a spot where you can price out vacation packages.  It looks like for a moderate resort, tickets and meal plan, it will cost approximately $3073 and for a value resort, the cost is reduced to approximately $1866.  You may want to go on the Disney site and price out a couple options with your own resort preferences, etc.

Note: the rates above are non-discounted rates.  If it were me, I would probably wait to see if any discounts are announced for your time period.  My favorite place to keep an eye on discounts for anything Disney is mousesavers.com.  I just checked the historical discount section on mousesavers and it looks like there was a package discount announced for your travel period on December 4th of last year.  Discounts are never guaranteed, but I would probably wait until at least mid-December before booking a vacation package for February.  In the meantime, you can spend some time on disneyworld.com to research resorts, potential dining, etc.  That way you are ready to book if any discounts are announced.

Please let us know if you have further questions and I hope  your first vacation to Disney is super magical!  Diane  :)
