Hi Diane,
How wonderful that you booked a deluxe studio at
Disney's Old Key West Resort! I think that you will really enjoy the comfortable atmosphere at this resort. One of my favorite activities when I am staying at Disney's Old Key West Resort is to take a relaxing boat ride along the Sassagoula River to Disney Springs. The boat is such a pleasant way to travel!
For someone with mobility issues, I think that the best options are the buildings near the Hospitality House, which is the main lobby building at Disney's Old Key West Resort. If you booked through Disney Vacation Club using vacation points, these are a separate booking category called "Near Hospitality House." They do not require any extra vacation points; however, you would want to be sure that your reservation indicates a "Near Hospitality House" accommodation. The buildings that I am looking at are buildings 11, 12, and 13. While there will be a lot of activity because these are so near to the Hospitality House, these are very close to a bus stop, as well as to the main pool area, shopping, and dining. A little bit further from the Hospitality House (but not too much further) are buildings 62, 63, and 64, which have elevators. If stairs are an issue for your daughter, you might want to request one of these, or be sure to request a ground floor accommodation. If you are not able to or do not want to be so close to the Hospitality House, you might consider requesting a room close to a bus stop no matter where you are on Disney's Old Key West property.
I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Diane. Have a great time planning your magical vacation, and please do let us know if you have any further questions!
