Hello, Jessica!
It's never too early to begin planning a magical runDisney-cation.
Disney's All-Star Music Resort has an on-site jogging trail to help get in a few training runs before race day. This trail is one mile in length and can always be repeated to increase mileage.
There are some additional
New Balance Running Trails on-property that I love, if you're willing to travel to other resorts.
• Disney's BoardWalk, Yacht & Beach Club loop. This New Balance Running Trail is my favorite! And by adding the path that leads to/from Hollywood Studios, in additional to encircling Crescent Lake and including the path to Epcot's International Gateway entrance, one full loop can add up to over 3 miles.
• Disney's Wilderness Lodge & Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. This trail is approximately 2.5 miles and is the shadiest trail on property! One of the best aspects about this trail is all the wildlife you will see. My Husband and I recently encountered several deer while running this trail.
As far as not wearing yourselves out; keep your park days short and your training runs shorter. I would end each day at the parks by dinner time, or at least make sure you are taking a long break in the afternoons. While you want to keep your legs loose, you don't want to wear them out from too much theme park walking. It's also important not to stay up too late as you will need to awake at 2:30am on race morning. So hold off on the late night parades and firework for after the race.
I hope these tips help get you started as you begin planning, Jessica! Please let me know if any additional questions come up.
