Hi Mom's! My family decided on a last minute Thanksgiving trip to Disney World. Any recommendations for dinner that evening please? We are a party of 5 (youngest 21 months/oldest 62 years old). We have annual passes so any park would be ok. Thanks!

    Hi Lourdes,

Happy Thanksgiving a little early! My family is spending the holiday at Walt Disney World, too, and we are so excited.

Reservations for Thanksgiving are pretty well booked by now, but you should still be able to find a nice meal, even if it isn't necessarily traditional turkey and dressing. The Disney Parks Blog last week listed many of the restaurants that will offer special Thanksgiving-themed meals, and a few are quick service (not reservation required).

Those include Sunshine Seasons at Epcot and the food courts at the All-Star resorts. The independent Disney Food Blog also reported on the Earl of Sandwich's holiday offerings, including a holiday ham sandwich and its renowned holiday turkey sandwich, plus some themed desserts.

Several restaurants at Downtown Disney -- Raglan Road, Portobello, Fulton's and Wolfgang Puck's Grand Cafe -- are creating prix fixe menus for day. I don't see many spots available for those online, but I suggest calling Disney Dining (407-939-3463) to see what you might work out. You also could try calling the restaurants directly.

If you don't care if you get traditional fare (and my family is opting out this year in favor of the African flavors of Boma), you have a few more options. Some of the table-service restaurants still appear to have sporadic reservations available early and late. I just saw spots at a few favorites, including Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Tutto Italia and Tokyo Dining at Epcot.

If you can't find a reservation that works, my other thought is that it might be a good time to taste your way around the World Showcase. My family does this often, creating our own version of the Food & Wine Festival from the regular offerings in the pavilions.

I hope that helps. Wishing you a wonderful time enjoying your family, regardless of where you dine.
