hi moms,i was wondering if any of you know of any discount shops in disney world for souviners and such,i am on a budget but want to come home w a little something for everyone plus a bunch of things for my kids this is our family first trip to disney.

    Hi, Angela!

There are many great souvenirs you can bring home for friends and family without breaking the bank!  Let's start with some FREE ones!

-Cast Members are often seen passing out Mickey Mouse stickers.  What kids don't like stickers?  They will be a nice little "extra" to give!

-I always bring all my own soaps and shampoos, so I snag the travel size items left in the room.  Housekeeping leaves small bottles of Mickey shampoos and Mickey soaps that make a cute little give-away (or keep them for yourself for your home bath!)

-For low cost souvenirs, how about some Mickey snacks?  For just a few dollars, you can get Mickey shaped rice krispie treats, small bags of Chip and Dale pretzels, or a small box of shortbread cookies.

-My kids like to buy bags of "chocolate coins" that have the Disney Pals on the wrappers.  They pass a coin out to each of their classmates. (Just make sure to buy these last so they don't melt in the warm Florida temperatures!)

-Many key chains and magnets are under $10 - a fun and useful gift!

-Recycle Shopping bags with Disney logos are a great gift. At about $4, they are a great price and fold flat for easy transport home.

-Another great idea you can buy in bulk is a box of small Mickey-shaped Christmas ornaments.  I believe there were about 10 in a box for about $25, but not sure on the price.  Put them in individual cello-bags at home with a pretty ribbon for a lovely gift.   There are several Christmas stores in the parks and also the Days of Christmas at Downtown Disney.

I hope this gives you a good start!  I hope you find the perfect souvenirs for your friends and family!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
