Hi Moms!.I will be traveling with my 2 kids. Daughter, 8 and son, 5. Which park do you think my son will love the most, AK or Epcot? at first I thought AK would be great for him. But now people are telling me Epcot is the way to go! Your opinions please!!!

Hi Brenda! This truly is a toss up for choosing a park for your children.  My grandson has just turned six so I can give you my own insight on what a young boy has enjoyed in each park.

My grandson will say his favorite park is Epcot.  He will spend hours in the Innoventions buildings as they are full of interactive and educational activities. There is also one one of the best character meet and greet locations here that includes many of the famous names! Other attractions which are high on his list are Turtle Talk with Crush, Finding Nemo ride, the Land boat ride, Soarin (height restriction), just recently Test Track (height restriction), Imagination, Spaceship Earth, Energy, ride in the Mexico pavilion, and the entertainment throughout the World Showcase. For dining our choices are usually Teppan Edo in Japan and the Germany Biergarten.

Animal Kingdom is also a favorite. He loves the Safari ride and we enjoy taking the two walking trails to see the gorillas and tigers.  Great attractions here include the Lion King show, the Nemo show, Flights of Wonder, and recently Its A Bugs Life. The Boneyard is like a giant playground where they can run off a little steam.  Probably his favorite activity is to take the train to Rafiki's Planet Watch where he enjoys brushing and petting the sheep and goats and watching them being trained. Inside there are character meet and greets, animal experts, and sometimes exotic animals to touch. We always make a stop for lunch at Flametree Barbecue and sit down by the water.

So you can see the two parks offer a great deal for that age. Only you would be able to decide the interest of your son and which would entertain him the  most.  Another consideration is that Animal Kingdom park will usually close much earlier then Epcot and if you only have one day you would want to spend as much time in a  park as possible.
