Hi Moms, Have a few scheduling questions. On Magic Kingdom day my mom and I have 2:35 lunch at Grand Floridian and on Hollywood Studio day have 7:00 dinner at Epcot , what time do you suggest leaving the park to make our reservations? Thanks!

    Hi Lisa ~

I am one of those that likes to give myself plenty of time so I don't feel rushed. You actually have two great options to get to the Grand Floridian from the Magic Kingdom. You can take the Resort Monorail Line or a Boat Launch. If you take the Resort Monorail, it will be the 4th stop from the Magic Kingdom.  Once you've boarded the monorail, you're looking at a 15 - 20 minute ride.

You can also take a boat launch from the Magic Kingdom to the Grand Floridian.  Its very peaceful and is about a 10 minute ride once you've boarded the boat and set sail. You'll also need to allow yourself time to walk from the dock to the Main Building of the Grand Floridian.

You'll need to arrive to check-in 15 minutes prior to your reservation. I'd plan to leave the Magic Kingdom 40 - 45 minutes prior to your reservation time to get to the Grand Floridian.  I never mind being early and always like a little breathing room. If you have time to spare, no worries. The Grand Floridian is beautiful and you won't mind spending a few minutes in the lobby. In fact, you may want to go earlier so you can.

On the evening you're dining in Epcot, you can take a Friendship Boat from Hollywood Studios to the International Gateway Entrance of Epcot. As you exit Hollywood Studios, head to the left (there are signs) for the Friendship Boat Dock. Depending on how fast you and your Mom walk and where in Epcot you're dining, you may want to give yourself at least 1 - 1 1/2 hours. You may have to wait a few minutes on the boat and it will make some stops along the way to Epcot. If you're dining in Mexico, its a long walk from the International Gateway Entrance.  However, if you're dining in France you'll be a lot closer and 1 hour should be enough time.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
