Neema, First of all, welcome to the Moms Panel! We love having newcomers to our little forum. I'm glad you have found some great answers while reading through the website.
I am not going to lie. August is a very hot month in Florida. With highs in the 90s, lows in the upper 70s and the added humidity, it can be pretty sweltering. With that said, as long as you plan for this weather with breathable light clothing, staying hydrated, and frequenting air-conditioned attractions throughout your day, the magic and wonder of the parks can many times take your mind to a happy place and fun and memories can still be made.
Another great benefit to the vast array of options among the Walt Disney World Resort is the splashing fun that can be had at the two water parks on property.
Typhoon Lagoon and
Blizzard Beach would be two great alternatives to spend the day when you need a break from the heat of the parks. Don't forget about the themed pools at each of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels! We always try to plan a day at the pool to unwind and have some laid back fun! Based on the number of days you plan on staying, a much needed cooling off day in the water should not take away from the time you would want to spend in the parks!
May the memories you create on your first Disney vacation be abundant and memorable! Feel free to come back and ask me more questions.
