Hi Mom's! Another question about Downtown Disney, we arrive New Years Eve and have ADR at Raglan Road, we were hoping to see Fireworks at midnight, but when I checked the entertainment schedule, it was stated that there would be no fireworks at DD. Advice

    Hi, Andrea!

Let me be the first to say Happy New Year 2014!  I love that you are planning to ring in the new year at Walt Disney World!

Since there are no fireworks at Downtown Disney, perhaps after your dining reservation you can hop on a bus over to the Polynesian.  From their beach, you will get an amazing view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks.  Ah, lounging on the beach, fireworks, and not having to deal with the madness of the parks! Sounds good to me!

Another option would be to take a bus from Downtown Disney to one of the resorts on the Boardwalk.  From there you will catch glimpses of the fireworks from both Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Now do not get me wrong:  Any place you go on New Year's Eve is going to be super busy and crowded. Be ready for long lines, lots of people, and waiting for transportation.  However, it will be festive and fun so enjoy!  Getting back to your resort after midnight might be a bit of a challenge and if you are near a resort, hopping in a taxi might be your best bet even though it will cost you a few bucks in taxi fare.

However you decide to spend the holiday, I hope it is magical!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
