Hi Moms&Dads, Im trying to decide when is the best time to visit. trying to compare typical crowds, and weather. Would the last wek of august or 2nd or 3rd week of september be better? Moderate reort sugg for 8&9 yo boy and girl. Thanks

    Hi Alecia!

The end of August and the middle of September are favorite times to vacation in Walt Disney World for my son and I because of lower crowds.  The weather in August is still extremely hot and humid.  Typically, September will be a little cooler and less humid, but not a lot compared to August.  Crowds are typically lower in September, but you will have to take your children out of school to vacation in Walt Disney World at this time.  I would lean toward September if you are looking for lower crowds and less heat and humidity.

I would recommend Port Orleans French Quarter or Port Orleans Riverside for a Moderate Resort for you and your family.  I have stayed at both of them and loved them!  Also I wanted to tell you about a new Resort that is opening in 2012 called the Art of Animation Resort.  The Art of Animation Resort is a Value Resort which has family Suites that can sleep up to six people and have two separate bathrooms, a master bedroom, and three separate sleeping areas within the living space so your children could have a bed of their own.  The Family Suites of the Art of Animation Resort in in the same price range as a Moderate Resort room.  The Art of Animation Resort is currently booking rooms for the time frame of your vacation next year.

I hope that your next Walt Disney World vacation is filled with magic and memories!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
