My Mom is visiting next month after finishing chemo & radiation. While she is here we will visit Disneyland. She visits Disneyworld almost every year for 34 years. We would like to do a small scavenger hunt to do gender reveal with lady characters..?

Hi there, Jonah! Thanks so much for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I think it is absolutely wonderful that you are celebrating your mom's heroic journey at the Happiest Place on Earth! Plus, it sounds like a baby is on the way which is even more cause for celebration!

I think meeting all sorts of female characters around the parks would be a super fun way to do a gender reveal. The first thing you will want to do is study the list of characters available on the Disneyland app. You can use the map or the list view to see when and where your favorite friends are meeting that day. There are a lot of female characters that meet regularly like princesses at Royal Hall in Fantasy Faire, Minnie Mouse in her house in Mickey's Toontown, Anna and Elsa in Disney California Adventure Park, Mary Poppins, Alice, Tinker Bell, and even Jessie from Toy Story.

All of the above characters sign autographs, so perhaps you can make large puzzle pieces that spell out "It's a Girl!" and have each of these characters sign the piece. Or if a Cast Member is accompanying the character meet and greet, you could discuss with them the possibility of handing an envelope with the baby's gender inside to the character and then have the character give the envelope to your mom. Another fun idea would be to "photo bomb" the pictures your mom takes with each character. You could join in the picture and covertly hold a sign behind your mom that says "It's a Girl!" Then show your mom the PhotoPass pictures at the end of the day for the reveal.

I hope this gives you some ideas to surprise your mom! Have a wonderful time at the Disneyland Resort!
