Hi Alisa!
Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question. It sounds like you are planning a special visit with your Mom and hoping to make it as smooth and comfortable for her as possible. Happy to help! The Disneyland Resort takes great strides to ensure the magic is accessible to all Guests, and there are lots of
services and resources available to do just that.
Many Guests who rent an ECV find that it's perfect for getting around the parks, but as you mentioned, it can be a little too large to navigate some of the attraction queues, especially those that have been here since opening day! Loading procedures vary by attraction. While your Mom will be able to stay in the ECV for some rides, others will require a transfer to a wheelchair or the ride vehicle directly. There are a few that also have ambulatory requirements where Guests would need to walk by themselves or with assistance from their party. Cast Members at the entrance to each attraction are happy to provide you with details and assistance, if needed. In instances where Guests are asked to transfer from an ECV to a wheelchair, those are provided at the attraction itself.
If you'd like to plan your day ahead of time, you can find loading information for each attraction directly on the website or right in the Disneyland app! On the website, hover over the "Things to Do" tab along the top navigation bar and select "Attractions and Entertainment". You will see there are several filter options along the top of the next page, including "
Accessibility and Advisories". If you tap that option, there will be a list of filters to choose from under "Mobility Disabilities". By selecting "Guests may remain in wheelchair/ECV", you will immediately see the list of attractions where this is the case. If you are already in the parks, you can use the search icon in the bottom navigation bar in the Disneyland app to find this information for a specific attraction. Once you pull up the attraction, scroll down to "Accessibility & Other Information" to see how Guests are required to access the ride.
Alisa, I hope this has been helpful! If you have any questions at all during your visit, Cast Members throughout the park are always happy to help point you in the right direction, and you can also visit the
Accessibility Services Kiosk in the Main Entrance Esplanade.
ECVs are available for rent as well at The Stroller Shop just outside the entrance to Disneyland Park. They are first-come, first-served, so we always recommend securing one in the early part of the day.
I sure hope you and your Mom make some unforgettable memories next week! If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at
planDisney.
Wish a sprinkling of pixie dust,
Tara
