Hello Aileen, greetings from planDisney! Your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation is right around the corner – how exciting!
The
Disability Access Service (DAS) is a valuable service designed to assist guests facing the challenges of being in traditional attraction queues. To better help you decide whether you should have your mom apply for DAS, let’s look at some of the things Disney would like you to know about the service. As previously mentioned, it is intended for guests who have difficulty being in attraction queues; it allows guests to request a return time for a specific attraction or experience, rather than providing immediate access; pre-registration for DAS is required, and it can be done 30 days before your park visit, but no later than two days before; the guest requesting DAS must be present during both the registration process and when returning to the attraction or experience at the designated time.
If you think this is something you would like to apply for, you can now pre-register online through video call and chat, so let’s guide you through the registration process! First and foremost, I recommend downloading the
My Disney Experience app, creating an account (if you haven’t already), and ensuring that park tickets for each guest are linked through your
Friends & Family list. Once that’s done, visit the “
Registering for Disability Access Service (DAS)” page and scroll down to the “Ready to Chat with a Cast Member” section. After reading the Terms and Conditions, click on the “Request a Live Video Chat” which will open a chat box asking a few questions before putting you in a virtual queue to speak with a Cast Member via video chat. This process is available from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM Eastern Time.
I hope this information helps you decide whether your mom should apply to DAS, but regardless of the outcome, I know that you will have a memorable vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort!
