Hi, my mom has her passport with her maiden last name but her utility bills have her married last name. She is going to bring her passport and utility bill as proof of CA residency. Would you recommend changing her name on her ticket with both last names?

    Hello there, Bianca!

Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for stopping by with your Disneyland Resort question. Hooray! It sounds like you and your mom have a pixie-dusted visit to the theme parks planned!

First, make sure that the person who made your theme park reservations has updated their contact information, especially the home address in California, in their Disney account on Disneyland.com. If you’re able to call and speak with a Cast Member to correct the name on her ticket before your arrival, that would be ideal. Also, as you already know, Cast Members at the theme park entrance gates may require that Guests present photo identification to show proof of California residency. A driver’s license or DMV-issued identification card would be best, but if your mom doesn’t have one, a current utility bill that shows her name and in-state home address should be sufficient.

Bianca, I hope this helps and that you both enjoy a practically perfect visit to the Happiest Place on Earth very soon! Please stop by again if you have any other planning questions.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
