Hi Mom Panel!!! We will be visiting Magic Kingdom the wk of July 1-7, 2012 for our anuall family vacation. This will be our 1st visit to Magic Kingdom. My question is are we allowed to bring sack lunches and bottled water in the park?

    Hi Veronica!

Congratulations on your first magical vacation to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom!  I hope you'll find it so wonderful that you'll return many times after this one!

Yes, you are allowed to bring food and drinks into the Parks with you, which is a great way to plan ahead and save some on your budget.  We often pack a small cooler bag.  We usually freeze a couple bottles of water or juice, to use as our "ice packs", and then drink later in the day as they melt.

Some of our favorite snacks to pack include sandwiches, grapes, string cheese, crackers, and dried fruit.  You may want to pack a couple of sweet treats, such as gummy bears, so you'll have something to offer the kids when they are begging for the tempting snacks they'll see throughout the Park.  And trust me, there are plenty of enticements, from the Mickey Mouse Rice Crispy Bars, to ice cream, popcorn and more!

Remember, whatever you pack you will have to carry, unless you rent a locker at the Park Entrance.   Otherwise, you will want it to be small enough to leave on your stroller or carry on the rides with you.  Also, avoid coolers with rolling wheels and glass containers.  Your bags will be examined by Disney Security before you enter the Park.

    Have a wonderful time!
