Hi Mom Panel! Love all the great advice.... Quick question. Going to WDW beginning of Dec for 10 days - just my husband and I (both 24) narrowed it down to CBR or PO Riverside.. Where should we go?? Thanks so much!!

    Sheena:

Both resorts are beautiful, so I can see where it would be a difficult decision.  In fact, my husband and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary nextdoor at Port Orleans: French Quarter in a few weeks!

Considering the fact that you aren't bringing children and you're visiting in December, I'd have to choose Port Orleans for you, too.  Caribbean Beach Resort's advantage over other moderates is its well-themed pool and sandy beaches.  Although you can certainly still swim in Florida in December---and in Disney's heated pools--its allure isn't as attractive as Port Orleans' leg up: its boat to Downtown Disney.

As a fellow Southerner, I can tell you that I wasn't as captivated by the theming at Port Orleans at I was with Caribbean Beach Resort--afterall, if you live in the lowcountry of South Carolina, you probably see plenty of spanish moss!  But the romance of Magnolia Bend's mansions and manicured lawns reminds me of some of the deluxe resorts on property.  Coupled with the dining available via boat to Downtown Disney.  Port Orleans has my vote.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
