    Hi mom panel, I have booked a trip for my nieces(13,18) and I for June 3-7. My question is I was unable to book the dining plan so is there some pointers you can give me to minimize my spending on meals during this trip?

    Hi Carlita!

    I suggest bringing some breakfast food with you to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel.  That will cut down the cost of breakfast and, unless your girls like to wake up early in the morning, provide you more time in the theme parks experiencing the attractions instead of waiting around for food!  Thus this tip can save money and time!

    After that, you will generally save more money by just eating in Quick Service locations throughout Walt Disney World.  However, you might want to try a Table Service restaurant.  If you do, then definitely visit the Table Service restaurant for lunch rather than dinner as the prices are generally a lot less expensive for lunch than dinner.  Also, you should consider making a very late lunch reservation that, with some snacks throughout the day, might be able to cover both lunch and dinner.

    One of the best values on property is Trail's End at Fort Wilderness.  The dinner is great and the least expensive dinner buffet on property.  Getting to Fort Wilderness is easy and fun on a day when you are visiting the Magic Kingdom.  That's because you can just take a boat that runs directly between the park and Fort Wilderness.  It's about a 20 minute boat ride and then you can return to the fun at the Magic Kingdom after dinner.

    By the way, if you want to see the menu, including prices, for every Table Service and Quick Service restaurant in Walt Disney World, I recommend visiting the independent website AllEars.Net.  The team at All Ears does a great job keeping their site up to date.  Just click on Walt Disney World and then Dining from their home page.
