Hi! Mom of a one year old here. We will be in the Orlando area mid December are are hoping to take our daughter for 1 or maybe 2 half days. What parks/attractions will be the best? Any opportunities that we can be sure she can meet Mickey/other characters?

    Welcome to planDisney, Jordan!

As the mother of a one-year-old princess myself, it is a pleasure to help you plan your upcoming visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!

Since you are possibly visiting for one day only, I highly recommend Magic Kingdom Park. This iconic theme park offers several attractions that your baby girl can enjoy! If she is as keen on discovering sights and sounds as my daughter, she will especially appreciate “it’s a small world”, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Mad Tea Party, Peter Pan’s Flight, Jungle Cruise and Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid.

As you prepare for your visit, please note that updates have been made following guidance from health authorities and appropriate government agencies in order to promote enhanced cleaning, physical distancing and reduced contact. Although it is not possible at this time to personally meet and greet Disney friends, be on the lookout at the park as they may make special appearances throughout the day in character cavalgades and during a royal Disney Princess processional.

A great way to wave hello to Mickey and his pals is by making reservations for breakfast at Chef Mickey’s, located right next to Magic Kingdom Park at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. They will return to this popular dining destination starting December 16, 2020, and I cannot think of a better way to start your day before having fun at the park. Reservations are now open and can be made online, based on availability. Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera is another great location to have breakfast and see Mickey and friends as they parade through the restaurant.

Jordan, don’t forget to link your tickets to your Disney account as soon as you purchase them, and immediately make a theme park reservation for Magic Kingdom Park via de Disney Park Pass system. Keep the latest version of the My Disney Experience app on your mobile device to have the details of your visit readily available, and take advantage of magical features like Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering.

planDisney tips: Stop by the Baby Care Center located inside Magic Kingdom Park for a convenient place to feed or nurse your daughter, go for a diaper change, and even purchase items like formula, baby food, juice, wipes, sunscreen and more.

Thank you for sending your question our way. I hope this helps you while planning and that you have a magical visit with your sweet princess!

    Best Disney wishes,
    Thiana
