Welcome to planDisney, Lauren! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today. I'm glad you're thinking about your mom's needs in advance because there is a lot of ground to cover at Walt Disney World Resort. I average about 10 miles a day, so it's good to think about how your mom is going to stay comfortable throughout a whole day of magic. I've got some ideas and suggestions, so let's jump right in and chat about it!
Lauren, there are benches around Walt Disney World Resort, but sometimes they can be few and far between. They're typically around the entrances and exits to attractions, but you will find a few on walking paths as well. Since there also is no designated seating area for
Happily Ever After at
Magic Kingdom Park or
Luminous The Symphony of Us, the upcoming brand-new nighttime spectacular at
EPCOT, I recommend that you look into renting a mobility device for your mom.
Wheelchairs and
ECVs are available for rent at all four Theme Parks, or you can also rent one from a Disney Featured Provider and have it delivered to your
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel so you can use it for the length of your stay. Having a mobility device for your mom will make sure that she stays comfortable and always has somewhere to sit when she needs to! Folding chairs are not permitted inside the Theme Parks, so this will likely be the best choice available to you. I know lots of people who don't necessarily use a wheelchair or ECV at home, but find them to be incredibly convenient and suited to their needs while they're at The Most Magical Place On Earth.
I hope this answers your question, Lauren, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
