My mom, myself and my daughter are registered for the 5K at EPCOT on marathon weekend in January, 2012. What happens if someone is not able to keep up with the 16-minute mile pace?

    Hi Trina,

As someone who has secretly wanted to run or, more likely, walk a Disney half-marathon, I have often asked the same question you posed to the Moms Panel today.  Participants who do not maintain the required sixteen-minute mile pace will be "swept."  That simply means that Disney transportation will pick up those lagging behind.  There's no shame in being swept.  If you need a ride to the finish line, that's ok.  You gave it your best try.  You'll just train more effectively and walk or run a little faster next time.  Right?

Check out all the magical races in which you could participate.  Good luck with your upcoming 5K race at Epcot.
