My mom has a military ID and wanted to buy me Disney tickets for my graduation. The issue being she cannot travel and therefore wouldn’t be able to come with us. Can she still use the military discount without being present for the ticket activation?

Hi Vanessa, and welcome to planDisney!

First, congratulations on your graduation! What an exciting time for you, and a visit to Walt Disney World Resort is just the thing to help celebrate.

If I am not mistaken, you may be referring to the Disney Military Salute Tickets. If so, the “Disney Military Salute Tickets may be purchased at participating US military sales outlets by Eligible Service Members or their spouse, for use by themselves and family members and friends.” The Eligible Service Member or spouse can purchase no more than six Disney Military Salute Tickets, and one of the six tickets purchased must be used by the Eligible Service Member or their spouse. To answer your question, your mom will need to be present at Disney with the entire travel party to activate the Disney Armed Forces Salute Tickets. I hope this helps.

Please let us know if you have additional questions.

    Have a magical graduation celebration!
