Hello Jennifer!
Welcome to planDisney! I would like to first say "Thank you!" to your mom for her service to our country. I'm sorry to hear that she is not doing well and I hope she heals thoroughly and quickly.
Disney Military Salute Tickets can be purchased at military bases and sales outlets by Eligible Service Members or their spouses with the intention for it to be used by their friends and family members. A valid military ID is needed to purchase the tickets but also when activating the ticket before first use. If these are the tickets that were purchased then your mom will have to present her military ID at the ticket booths outside of the Parks or at the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs to get them activated. Once the tickets are activated and linked to your
MyDisney account they can be used freely. If the tickets were purchased online through
Shades of Green they will arrive already activated and you will not need to have your mother present for activation.
I'm sorry if this throws a wrench into your upcoming plans. If your mom is not able to make it to the Park for activation then maybe she can assist in purchasing the already activated tickets from Shades of Green. You can also contact
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations to see if you can move your reservation to a date when your mom could join you. I would act quickly as packages (resort stay with tickets)
must be canceled 30 days before arrival to receive a full refund. There are also some
good ticket deals for this summer that you can purchase on your own that you could consider. I especially like the 4-Park Magic Ticket, which lets you explore each of the 4 main Theme Parks and does not require theme park reservations, unlike Disney Military Salute Tickets, which
require theme park reservations.
I wish you well and am sending Tink to sprinkle some pixie dust on your mom! Think happy thoughts!
Happy Planning!
