My mom doesn't normally use a wheelchair, but without some kind of assistance she won't be able to endure traveling around WDW or standing for long periods. What's your best suggestion for her. A wheelchair? A scooter?

    Hello, Rachel!

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel! My mother has mobility issues and finds that using Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) allows her to keep up with the family without getting too tired. The ECV also allows her the freedom to go off on her own and that would not be as easy with a wheelchair.

Wheelchair and ECV Rentals are available in all four theme parks and Disney Springs. Keep in mind that units are available on a first come, first-served basis and must remain in the theme park where rented. If you plan to visit during a busy season, you may want to arrive early to secure a device for the day.

Since my mother likes using the ECV beyond the theme parks, I rent an unit from a Disney featured provider like Buena Vista Scooter Rentals. They will even deliver the unit right to our Disney Resort hotel's Bell Services and pick it up at the end of our vacation. You can find a complete list of Disney featured providers at the bottom of ECV Rental page (linked above).

I hope this helps! Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. I hope you make many magical memories with your family during your upcoming visit.
