I want to take my mom to Disneyland but she does not have a valid California I.D. Will an I.D be required to enter Disneyland/Disney California Adventure Park?

    Hi Brenda,

Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for taking the time to visit us with your question. I’m delighted to hear you’ll be returning to a land of Magic with your mother! I know you’ll have lots of pixie-dusted fun together, creating new memories. My family and I just returned home from a lovely trip to the Happiest Place on Earth and we cannot wait to plan our next trip!

During our visit, my husband and I were not asked to present our IDs. During the very beginning when Disneyland Resort reopened after the long closure, only California residents were allowed to enjoy the Disneyland Resort theme parks because of state regulations. However, as of June 15, 2021, out-of-state Guests are able to visit the theme parks and therefore, IDs have not been required to show proof of California residency. Please rest assured your mother will not need to present an ID for entry during your upcoming visit.

I hope this information is helpful for you, Brenda. Please don’t hesitate to visit us on planDisney again if you have additional questions.

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes or Disney Cruise Line voyages with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
