My mom is currently undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. She finishes her treatment in a few weeks and we're coming as a family to DisneyLand to celebrate. Is there something special you guys can do for her? Or anything you recommend? Thanks :)

Hi McKenzie! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so happy you found us to send us this question.

The Happiest Place on Earth is the perfect place for family time and happy celebrations! It's so nice of you to want to make this time special for your mom. While there isn't anything specific available to commemorate your mom's victory, as a cancer survivor, I can give you some ideas of how our family celebrates overcoming my cancer diagnosis and treatment. For many summers, this has been my family's Super Bowl moment and annual tradition. There is something so special and different about going to a Disney Park to celebrate and spend time as a family!

First, be sure to pick up complimentary "I'm Celebrating" buttons for everyone in your travel party. These can be found at City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park, or at Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park. Next, I recommend getting family photos taken by a Disney PhotoPass photographer throughout your vacation. These photos will help capture all of the special memories and time together. I also suggest making an Advanced Dining Reservation to celebrate all that your mom and family have overcome. This can be done up to 60 days before the date you would like to reserve. You can even preorder a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake at select dining locations to make the celebration even more special.

I hope these suggestions will add some extra pixie dust to your family's celebration and that your mom is doing well. The gift of life is so precious, and so is the time you will have together. I'm wishing you a magical vacation, and many wonderful memories! If you have more planning questions before you arrive, please feel free to send them to us at planDisney. We can't wait for you to be our guest, and we would love to help!

Wishing you all health and a happily ever after!
    Smiles,
    Lisa
