Hi Brittney ~
I have a son with Cerebral Palsy with physical and cognitive disabilities. He did not sit unassisted until he was 16 months old. Even then, his trunk strength was very low and he was not very stable. However, he was able to ride a lot of rides. I sat him beside me and held him up. On some of the rides, I was allowed to sit him on my lap. Your daughter may love riding many of the rides at the Magic Kingdom including "it's a small world", Dumbo, Peter Pan's Flight, the Jungle Cruise, the WDW Railroad, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid, and the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
If your daughter uses a wheelchair or a stroller as a wheelchair, some ride vehicles allow Guests to remain in them during the ride. Here is some
information regarding attractions for Guests with Mobility Disabilities including those that allow Guests to remain in their wheelchairs or strollers used as wheelchairs.
If you plan to use a stroller as a wheelchair, go to Guest Relations inside one of the theme parks and request a band that will indicate to Cast Members (CMs) that you will be using the stroller as a wheelchair. This will allow your daughter to remain in the stroller in queues and in entertainment venues. They will date the band so that you can use it during your stay and you will not have to go back to request another one. Be sure to put it on a handle so that it is clearly visible for CMs.
I am limited in space but provided another Guest with some information about
traveling with special needs children that you may find helpful as well.
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
