My mom brought my kids Disney tickets and she needs to provide proof of residence because Disney world is an hour away from her home and she will not be able to come with her . Is there a link for her to provide the proof?

    Hey Tiana!

Welcome to planDisney.  You've climbed the mountain, crossed the river, and you're almost there –– your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is right around the corner!  Can you believe you'll be taking part in The World's Most Magical Celebration in just over two weeks?  During your visit, be sure to keep an eye out for the Fab 50 Character Collection as you wander through the parks.  My kids loved hunting for golden sculptures of all their favorite characters during our most recent visit and I'm sure yours will, too!

How cool that your mom purchased Walt Disney World theme park tickets for your kids –– who needs friends on the other side when you've got such a thoughtful Grandma, right?!  While I knew that you could verify Florida Residency online for yourself, I wasn't exactly sure how it worked when you were purchasing tickets for kids.  So, I reached out to a friendly Guest Services Cast Member (seriously, they are the best!) and I'm happy to share what I learned.  While your mom can provide proof of her Florida residency online, this can only be done on Disneyworld.com or through the My Disney Experience mobile app at the time of checkout.  That means if the tickets haven't been purchased yet, she'll still be able to use the online verification process at checkout, as long as she has a valid Florida driver's license, ID card, or state-issued Military ID.

If the tickets have already been purchased, or if she doesn't have a valid Florida ID, she'll need to verify her Florida residency in person using proof of her Florida residential address, along with a photo ID, at any Walt Disney World theme park ticketing window or the Guest Relations location at Disney Springs.  Since you mentioned that she isn't planning to visit the parks with you, she also has the option to verify her residency at any of those locations before you arrive.  If there's no way for your mom to do that before or during your stay, you'll need to pay the difference between the Florida Resident rate and the standard admission price in order to use those tickets.

Thanks for visiting planDisney, Tiana.  If you think of any more Walt Disney World vacation planning questions before your visit, I hope you'll stop by again. I'm wishing on the evening star that there's lots of magic in store for you and your family!
