My mom beat cancer last year & we are going to DCA/Disneyland for her bday in July. Is there anything special that Disney can do to help celebrate? Like fireworks dessert parties or special dinners? We are going during Disneylands 70th anniversary!

Hi Camryn! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks so much for sending us your question.

I am so happy to hear that your mom beat cancer! As a fellow cancer survivor, I know what it takes to overcome that, and I think it's great that you plan to celebrate her this summer at The Happiest Place on Earth! I'm glad you will be visiting during Disneyland's 70th Anniversary Celebration too! While we don't know about any dining packages or dessert parties that might be offered during the special celebration, I recommend staying tuned to Disney Parks Blog for any announcements about the celebration. In the meantime, you could plan a special dinner by making an Advanced Dining Reservation. You can do this up to 60 days from the date you wish to dine. At select dining locations, you can also add a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake for some extra pixie dust for your mom's birthday celebration

During your visit, you can also celebrate your mom by picking up complimentary birthday and "I'm Celebrating" buttons. The buttons can be found inside at City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park, or at Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park. While I can't promise anything, wearing the buttons might bring your mom a little extra magic.

    Wishing you magic,
