Aloha, Diane! Welcome back to planDisney!
Thanks for sharing your question with us. The Polynesian Village Resort is one of my favorite places at Walt Disney World, and your ‘ohana has a great plan for enjoying their stay at this wonderful resort. Let’s dive in and get you the information you need!
Your mom and aunt will have no problem finding libations while they enjoy the Polynesian Village Resort’s many pools. There are servers in the pool areas who can bring you food and drinks, but there are also multiple nearby bars and lounges. Crowd levels will vary depending on the date and time they're visiting, but I’ve found that these watering holes usually have low or manageable lines, and I haven’t had any issues getting a drink in a reasonable amount of time.
The Lava Pool is the resort’s main aquatic recreation area, and you’ll find the
Barefoot Pool Bar and
Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace nearby. Both serve wine, as well as delicious cocktails, but Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace has a few wine options on the
menu. If your mom and aunt plan to enjoy the Cove Pool near the new Island Tower, then the walk-up bar at
Wailulu will be their closest option. You’ll also find the
Oasis Bar & Grill at the Oasis Pool near the Rarotonga and Hawaii buildings. This is usually a quieter experience than the main Lava Pool, as it doesn’t have a waterslide or dedicated kids' area, making it the perfect relaxation destination for your mom and aunt.
Diane, I hope this info helps your family have a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World and the Polynesian Village Resort. Don’t hesitate to come back if you have any other questions. Your planDisney ‘ohana is here to help!
Magical travels!
Matt
