From 1 mom of 3 to another-Not sure which resort to stay at in fall. Try to be economical. Which do you fell is best POR or AS fam suite? We really don't spend much time at room or pool? Have stayed at POR a few times and love it but may need more space?

    Hi Michelle,

As much as I love my family of 5, it can pose some difficulty when trying to plan an affordable vacation!  Port Orleans is really nice, and it still has a smaller resort feel that makes you feel more like you're staying at a deluxe resort.

Although I haven't stayed in the family suites, I have toured them.  They are quite nice, and they definitely afford you some extra room.  They also have two bathrooms which really helps when everyone is trying to get ready in the morning.  My only complaint about any of the All-Star Resorts is that they are so huge.  The food court area, although quite nice, always seems to be packed.  Likewise, the lines for buses can get quite long.

But, if you can get past all of that, family suites might be ideal.  The resorts are colorful and fun, and you'll definitely enjoy the extra space.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
