Mom(63 & active), me and 5yr old daughter are traveling to WDW in early May/2012. Can't decide between CB or POR?? Help? We don't mind walking as we have heard CB is expansive. My Mom and I love Key West and CB appears to be more tropical?

    Hi Lisa,

It sounds like you're leaning toward Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.  That makes sense because it is very tropical by design.  You can't look at the colorful villages that surround Barefoot Bay without smiling.  It makes you just want to kick off your sandals and dig your toes in the sand. This resort offers some imaginative guest rooms guaranteed to bring out your inner pirate.  I think this is an excellent choice.

Of course, you can't beat the southern theming of Disney's Port Orleans Resort Riverside.  If your daughter likes inventive water play areas, Ol' Man Island will delight her.  They also have some pretty exciting new Royal Guest rooms that might very well make your little girl feel like a princess while staying there.  This resort offers the added bonus of a dock where you can board a boat to Downtown Disney if you're in the mood for some shopping.

Based on your comments in the question you posted, it sounds like Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is a good match for your personality.  However, I wanted you to be aware of the many attributes of your other option before you decide.  Let us know if you need any more information to make your decision.  We'd be delighted to help.

Best wishes as you plan your magical Disney adventure!

    Jill

PS.  Both of these resorts sit on an expansive piece of property.  If you wish to be close to the resort center during your stay, it would be a good idea to call Disney now and add that request to your reservation.  While room requests are not guaranteed, the Cast Member who assigns rooms will make every effort to meet your request.
