My mom is 70 and able, but she/we want her to get a scooter for at the parks only so she will be able to make it through the whole day/night. Do the parks have scooters to rent like the strollers and how do we go about doing it ?

Hello Kelly, and thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel again with your question.

I am excited to hear that you are putting the finishing touches on your upcoming trip to the Walt Disney World Resort. Due to some old injuries, my mobility can be limited at times and I have found the use of an Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECV)s or scooters to be useful during my visit.

All Disney Theme Parks, Disney Springs, and the water parks have ECVs for rent. They are available on a first come, first served basis. Currently, they can be rented for $50 a day, which includes a $20 refundable deposit, in the parks and a $100 deposit at Disney Springs and water parks. ECVs cannot leave the park they are being used in, however, if you are park hopping, present your receipt with another deposit to use an ECV if one is available. When you rent from the parks or Disney Springs, visit the stroller/wheelchair rental area. Be sure to have a photo ID along with a debit or credit card for payment.

If you are staying on Disney Property, I would strongly recommend renting from one of Disney’s Featured Providers. This will allow you the use of an ECV for the entire length of your stay. These providers will deliver the ECV to your resort for her use and pick it up when you check out. I have used all of the providers on this list and their service is excellent. It is nice to have one during the entire trip because getting back to my resort at the end of the day can be very tiring. If you are staying off property, I would recommend getting to the parks early to make sure your mom has an ECV to use in the park that day, since there are a limited number available. I hope that helps with your planning. If you need any more help, please come back and visit us again.

    See ya real soon,
