Well first, let me say I empathize - there have been several vacation planning moments when I almost cried as well. I have learned to keep hope. There is plenty of magic still left in the world! I have a reservation for April of 2021 and I just called to try to modify it. I made my reservation directly through the Walt Disney World Resort website. The Cast Member I spoke with would have been able to modify my reservation to the week of Christmas for 2021 because there was availability but the price was going to be quite a bit more for the same resort.
If you made your reservation through a third-party vendor or travel agent, you will need to modify it through the same third-party site or travel professional. Otherwise, I suggest that you call back at 407-939-5277. I do know that those dates opened up fairly recently for booking dates in late 2021, so perhaps you called just before they did. Also, I suggest that you check the
resort hotel updates. It may be that you made a reservation at a resort hotel that has since changed reopening dates and they would need to move you to a different resort hotel.
One of the reasons I love booking a vacation package with the Walt Disney World Resort is because the
cancellation process has gone so smoothly for us in the past. As long as we have canceled prior to the cancellation deadline, we have received a full refund of our deposit. We have not included airfare with our
vacation packages in the past so I understand that you may need your trip insurance to cover airfare already purchased.
