Hi
Julie!
Without hesitation I would say
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter (PORFQ). As the name implies, the resort is themed after the famed New Orleans French Quarter. PORFQ is my top recommendation in the Moderate resort category for two reasons: its compact layout and its whimsically themed pool. Doobloon Lagoon is an exceptionally themed pool featuring festive Mardi Gras inspired decorations, an all alligator band, and a pastel blue sea serpent waterslide. Doobloon Lagoon is definitely one of the most creative and incredibly colorful pool complexes at the Walt Disney World Resort.
PORFQ consists of seven three-story guest-room buildings adjacent to the Sassagoula River. Most Guest rooms at PORFQ are within easy walking distance of the resort's main facilities. However, Buildings 2 & 5 are the closest to Doubloon Lagoon, making it an ideal location for families traveling with children. Take a look at the resort's map
HERE. Since you are traveling with children, I would recommend Building 5 room blocks 5117-5122, 5217-5222, or 5317-5322. You may ask for a River View Room in any of these room blocks, but there is no guarantee your request will be met. However, Cast Members will try to accommodate you based on the resort's occupancy, and other factors, at the time of your arrival. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.
Enjoy a most magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
