Hi, Marilyn!
Welcome to planDisney! I love that you’re thinking through all the details for your upcoming
Disney Cruise. Getting everything set ahead of time makes it so much easier to relax the moment you step on board.
I recommend switching your phone to airplane mode to avoid any accidental roaming charges. It’s also a good idea to turn off cellular data in your phone’s settings just to be extra safe. However, if you need to be able to make calls during your trip, make sure to get in touch with your phone provider ahead of time to set up a plan that works for you.
Once that’s done, you can connect to the
DCL-Guest Wi-Fi to use the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, now is the perfect time! It’s incredibly helpful during your sailing, with everything from
rotational dining details to onboard chat and daily activity schedules.
There’s no fee to use the Navigator app, and you can usually still send text messages through iMessage or WhatsApp, depending on your phone. Photos typically won’t go through, but you should be able to stay in touch with friends and family who use the same messaging options.
If you want full internet access to check social media, send emails, or stream videos, you’ll need to purchase an internet package once you’re on board. Personally, I love the chance to unplug and just enjoy time with my family, but I know many Guests need to stay connected to work or home. I appreciate that Disney Cruise Line offers options to fit everyone’s needs!
Marilyn, I hope your upcoming sailing is filled with smooth seas, magical moments, and plenty of relaxation. Please stop by planDisney again if you need more information.
Happy sailing!
Jen
