I will have a mobility scooter. I am staying at The Disney Caribbean. Are there elevators to the second floors? I can not walk up the steps and will need a first floor room if not. Is there a way to guarantee this reservation?

    Hiya Kristie,

Welcome to planDisney! It is always a magical time to visit Walt Disney World Resort, but it is extra special thanks to the 50th Anniversary Celebration. All the extra touches, including the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection, are incredible. In my opinion, the food is what makes the event. During your visit, be sure to check out all the exclusive treats since there is no guarantee they will return.

The island vibes of Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort are perfect for getting you in a state of relaxation for your vacation! Unfortunately, there are no elevators in any of the buildings, so you will definitely need to request a first-floor room for your stay. You can request a first-floor room in one of two ways. The first is through My Disney Experience, and the second is over the phone. To make a request through My Disney Experience:

    1. Log on to your My Disney Experience Account.
    2. Locate your Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel Reservation under My Plans.
    3. To the right of your reservation should be a button to “Start Check-In.”
    4. Once the page loads, scroll down until you see a blue box that says, “These Details Are on File.”
    5. Click “Show Details” at the bottom of the blue box.
    6. Under the expanded box, you should see “Room Request.” Edit the drop-down to indicate your preference for a first-floor room.
    7. Lastly, be sure that the box marked “Please prioritize having my room ready earlier…” is not checked before confirming your selections.

If you decide you would prefer to speak to a Cast Member to make your preference, you can call 407-939-1936. The wait times have been longer than average, so I recommend making your calls either earlier or later in the day to avoid peak calling times.

All the best and Happy Planning!
