Hello Brenda,
Welcome to planDisney! With so many incredible attractions and experiences at Disney's
Magic Kingdom Park, it's no surprise that both you and your
Electronic Convenience Vehicle (ECV) might need a mid-day recharge.
Regarding your question about bringing a portable battery to charge your ECV, the
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules and prohibited items list do not specifically mention spare batteries for ECVs. Portable battery banks for devices like cell phones are generally permitted, so if your spare battery is similar in size, it should be allowed. However, larger batteries might raise safety concerns. To ensure a smooth entry, keep the battery easily accessible during security screening.
If, for any reason, security Cast Members do not permit your spare battery, rest assured that there are numerous locations throughout the park where you can recharge your ECV. Many Guests park their ECVs outside restaurants to charge while they take a break. One of my favorite spots in Magic Kingdom is the upstairs seating area at
Columbia Harbour House. It's a peaceful place to relax and recharge after enjoying a delicious New England-inspired meal.
It's worth noting that while there aren't designated
charging stations specifically for ECVs, many ECVs use standard electrical plugs, allowing you to recharge them at various outlets throughout the parks. Many dining locations and rest areas throughout the parks are where you will typically see ECVs getting the boost needed via the accessible outlets. It's always a good idea to carry your ECV's charging cable and be on the lookout for these opportunities to ensure your ECV remains powered throughout your day.
I hope this information helps. If you have any other questions, feel free to
reach out to me directly here at planDisney.
See you real soon!
