Hello! I would like to use mobile ordering for food when we are at WDW, does the mobile app accept Disney gift cards as payment?

Hello, Diana. Thanks for visiting us here at planDisney to ask your question. I can see that your vacation to the most magical place on earth is only a few short months away. I bet you are getting so excited!

When Walt Disney World re-opened last summer they implemented many safety protocols throughout the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Mobile Ordering and limited contact payment was something that was already available at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks but underused in my opinion. Since the theme parks re-opened this has become standard practice for ordering at most, if not all quick-service dining locations. Mobile ordering accepts most forms of payments including:
    • Disney Gift Card
    • Apple Pay
    • Disney Rewards Redemption Card
    • Valid Credit or Debit Card
I should mention that you cannot pay, at this time, with multiple gift cards on one transaction. So if you have a bunch of gift cards with smaller dollar amounts on them, you might want to consider combining them into one or two cards for your trip.  The easiest way to do this is to call the phone number on the back of your gift card and have them consolidate your cards into one. You can also do this online but you will need to set up a disneygiftcards.com account. A single Disney gift card can hold a balance of up to $1000.

Because Mobile Ordering is your only option at a lot of places around Walt Disney World, they have made the process incredibly streamlined and easy. To mobile order, you'll need to log into your MyDisneyExperince app on your smartphone. You'll select the restaurant you wish to dine at and an arrival window so they know when to expect you. Next, you can browse through the menu and select what you want to order. There is even a customization feature so if you don't want a tomato on your burger, no worries. Then review your order and select your form of payment. When it's in your arrival window time-frame head over to the restaurant and select "I'm here, prepare my order" on the app. You'll get a notification when your food is ready and what window to pick it up at. You'll show your order confirmation to the Cast Member at the door of the restaurant and they will let you in to pick up your order. Most quick service dining locations have seating inside and outside to choose from at this time.

Mobile ordering is a very safe and convenient way to order food during this unprecedented time. I think you will enjoy how easy it is to use this feature during your upcoming vacation. If you have any other questions before your trip Diana, I hope you'll come back and ask me

    Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
