Hi Holly,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! The search continues for Moana - we are all anxiously awaiting her return from her wayfinding adventures!
As with many journeys, Moana's travels have been unpredictable. I am sad to say that we cannot confirm where she will be in September of 2018 although we do hope that she may return to greet guests for
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
Even when Moana is not physically present, we love to find ways to experience her kindred spirit. At Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, we like to visit the
Moana Mercantile shop to look for Moana-themed gifts. On our last visit, we saw Moana "Learn to Draw" sketchbooks. We also love to dine at 'Ohana during the Happily Ever After fireworks. During dinner, each of us shares our best mo'olelo (story) from our Disney adventures (like our first trip when one of our girls practiced her knock-knock jokes while standing in lines).
Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show features several different Polynesian dances. The music, dancing and storytelling captivated our girls on our last visit. Even though we did not see Moana, the show inspired us to embrace the journey no matter where life may take us!
Holly, as you prepare for your trip, keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for up-to-date information, but you can check out this article to see
last year's dates for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
A hui hou (until we meet again),
Donyell
