Hey Jeremy,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Woo-hoo – I see your Walt Disney World Resort vacation begins tomorrow – how exciting is
that?!
Moana is one of my very favorite Disney characters. I love her adventurous soul, fierce determination, and deep empathy, and the music from her movie is my favorite! I've been staring at the edge of the water waiting for my chance to tell Moana how much I admire her, but my time hasn't yet arrived. Currently, Moana has loaded her canoe up with boat snacks and is out voyaging, so she is not available to meet Guests at Walt Disney World Resort. I’m hoping that the line where the sky meets the castle calls her back soon, as I know there are so many Guests who would love to meet Moana.
Jeremy, there are a few places you can spot Moana around the theme parks. My favorite is during the
Happily Ever After fireworks at Magic Kingdom Park. The Moana scene brings tears to my eyes every time, and make sure to watch the shape of the fireworks as her song plays. You can also spot Moana in Mickey’s dream during
Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. At the very end, there’s a sequence involving lots of characters on a boat, and the last time I saw the show, my family cheered as we saw our favorite village chief. There is also a shop in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort called
Moana Mercantile, and while Moana doesn’t appear there in person, there’s lots of great Moana merchandise in the store, and you can stop by
Pineapple Lanai on the main floor for a Dole Whip and some more island vibes.
My favorite way to find characters when I'm in the theme parks is using the
My Disney Experience mobile app. Tap the map on the home screen, and then select "Characters" from the drop-down at the top; from there, navigate the maps of all four theme parks - every time you see a Mickey head icon, tap it to see
which character is meeting in that spot and their meet and greet times. So handy!
Jeremy, I hope you have the BEST time at Walt Disney World Resort! Let the magic begin!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
