Will Moana or Maui be at any of the parks in August/September 2018?

    Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  My daughter is a huge Moana fan and is constantly asking me the same question.

Given Moana's voyager roots she is currently not meeting guests at Walt Disney World Resort.  Maui has shape-shifted and they have headed out toward the sea since it was calling.  Because your visit to Walt Disney World Resort isn't for a while, there is a possibility that the adventurous pair may return to Walt Disney World Resort by the time you arrive.  I would recommend following the Disney Parks Blog as announcements regarding character appearances will appear there first.  As your trip approaches, please feel free to send us another question, as we may have better news.  I hope that she will return by August because we have a visit planned for around that time as well.

Even though the pair are not physically at Walt Disney World Resort, their presence is still felt and they can be seen in Happily Ever After, the fireworks showcase at Magic Kingdom Park.  Their scene in the showcase is one of my favourites, the projection on Cinderella Castle paired with the music and fireworks are spectacular. Also, there is plenty of Moana merchandise located at the shops throughout Walt Disney World Resort.

I hope that helps, Jennifer.  Please let us know if you have any other questions, we are always happy to help.
