For a 17mo old, which would you recommend: a baby/toddler backpack or stroller(flying - we can only bring 1)? Currently@15mo DD doesn't like to stay in stroller for long but will in BP. I think BP will get tiresome - even if DH mostly carries.

    Hi Ruth!

My sons really liked being in a baby carrier when they were infants, but once they hit the 1 year mark I could no longer carry them without hurting my back. Soon enough, my sons took a liking to their strollers. Other than my youngest son's first visit when he was 5/6months old, I brought only the stroller and left the carrier behind on our visit to Walt Disney World.

For your daughter though, you might find that as she gets to that near 1.5 years mark that she really wants her independence, so a stroller might not interest her or it might give her a break if she finds that the carrier gets too hot.

Bring what you know your daughter will use. You can always rent a stroller while visiting the Walt Disney parks if you find that you should have brought one along. Currently it costs $15 to rent a stroller, but if you rent for the length of your stay, it averages to $13/day (just be sure to keep your receipt to show at each park, each day).

Hope this helps and that your family has a magical vacation!!
