Fireworks at Magic Kingdom

After MNSSHP starts, are there regular fireworks on the non-party nights? Is the castle going to be Halloween decorated the entire season?

Boo! to you, Heather, and welcome to planDisney. I am so glad you stopped by with this ghoulishly delightful question. Late September is the perfect time to visit during the fall season because the crowds are smaller and all the holiday decorations will be displayed by my 999 happily haunting friends from the Haunted Mansion who are throwing a "swinging wake" of a party. With special Disney character meet-and-greets, lower crowds, dance parties, parades, special fireworks, and of course, treat trails and special party treats, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of my family's favorite late summer-early fall events.

Magic Kingdom Park starts dressing up for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party a least a week before the first party date. The first party of 2022 was on August 12, 2022, and I have pictures of jack-o-lanterns lining the railing of City Hall in Town Square as early as August 5. The scarecrows and otherworldly items will remain throughout the party season, so if you cannot attend, you will still be able to take some great photos. Also, on non-party nights Happily Ever After will light up the sky over Cinderella Castle. I am so glad it returned as the soundtrack is truly magical. If Disney continues the tradition, all the fall decorations will be in place until after midnight following the last party date. When that time arrives the Fairy Godmother transforms Magic Kingdom Park from Halloween to Christmas. Bibbidi, bobbidi, boo!

planDisney Pro Tip: Follow the Disney Parks Blog, Disney Parks Instagram account, and the Walt Disney World Resort website for details as they come out within the next month about Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. With this information, you will be able to make the appropriate theme park reservations well in advance to insure you have a spot for Happily Ever After on a non-party night.

Heather, I hope this information helps you. Please write me back directly with any follow-up questions.

Enjoy making many Magical Memories this fall.

    ~Jason
