Boo to You, Amanda!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a question about my FAVORITE event of the year,
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! I'm happy to help.
I'm happy to hear you've already checked out Walt Disney World Resort's Costume Guidelines for the party, and I'm super impressed you've already got a costume picked out! The two guidelines that you'll need to take notice of are the following:
- Costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
- Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest.
I think it's a great idea to make the decorative part of your Queen of Hearts wand out of foam, so it's safe and won't be mistaken for any kind of weapon. I think you should be fine, as long as you're not waving the wand at Guests and saying "Off with their heads!" in your best Queen of Hearts voice.
Speaking of the Queen of Hearts, she's been known to make an appearance at the Halloween party, usually in front of the
Mad Tea Party attraction. My daughter and I dressed as Alice and the Cheshire Cat last year and got some awesome pictures with her. Make sure to check with a Cast Member to see if she'll be gracing Guests with her presence this year!
I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any further questions as you plan your magical vacation! - Diane W.
