We are going to the MNSSHP next month and are trying to figure out our costumes. Are there any copyright restrictions we need to consider for making our own Disney character themed costumes? We don't want to get turned away at the gate! Thank you!!

    Hello, Darren!

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is my favorite special event to attend at the Walt Disney World Resort. We have been many times over the years, and I am always amazed at the creativity of Guests. Some families choose to dress in matching shirts while others dress in costumes, many that are handmade. A few years ago we met a family who dressed as favorite characters from the Haunted Mansion. The mom had hand stitched each costume for her three children because her sewing machine "died" just days before the party! The costumes were fantastic, and looked exactly like those found inside the attraction.

You should have no problems with making your Disney inspired costumes. Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind:
*Costumes should not be scary, offensive, or obstruct the view.
     *No weapons permitted.
*Avoid bringing items that are sharp, pointed or could easily mistaken for an actual weapon.

I hope this helps, and you have a fun time creating your family's costumes. Please let me know if I can help you with any other questions!

Have a spooktacular time with your family!
